Madhyamam has reported an article about the need of Non-Stop buses from Wayanad to Kozhikkode to cut down the heavy running time because of so much of stops.
ദേശീയപാത 212ല് വയനാട്-കോഴിക്കോട് നോണ്സ്റ്റോപ് കെ.എസ്.ആര്.ടി.സി സര്വീസ് ആരംഭിക്കണമെന്ന ആവശ്യം ശക്തമായി. കോഴിക്കോട്ടേക്ക് 100 കിലോമീറ്ററുള്ള സുല്ത്താന് ബത്തേരിയില്നിന്ന് ടൗണ് ടു ടൗണ്, ഫാസ്റ്റ് പാസഞ്ചര് ബസുകള് ഇപ്പോള് മൂന്നു മണിക്കൂറിലേറെ സമയം ഓടിയാണ് കോഴിക്കോട്ടത്തെുന്നത്. ഇതിനിടെ ഗതാഗതക്കുരുക്ക് ഉണ്ടായാല് നാലു മണിക്കൂറാവുന്ന സന്ദര്ഭങ്ങളുമുണ്ട്.
110 കിലോമീറ്ററുള്ള മാനന്തവാടിയില്നിന്ന് മൂന്നര മണിക്കൂറിലേറെയാണ് ഈ ബസുകളില് കോഴിക്കോട്ടേക്കുള്ള സമയം. 75 കിലോമീറ്റര് ദൂരമുള്ള കല്പറ്റയില്നിന്ന് ടി.ടി, ഫാസ്റ്റ് പാസഞ്ചര് ബസുകള് കോഴിക്കോട്ടത്തൊന് ശരാശരി രണ്ടേകാല് മണിക്കൂര് വേണം. നോണ്സ്റ്റോപ് ബസുണ്ടായാല് ഈ സമയം ഒന്നര മണിക്കൂറോളം മതി. ബത്തേരി, മാനന്തവാടി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്നിന്ന് ഒന്നര മണിക്കൂറോളം ലാഭിക്കാനാവും.
മൈസൂരില്നിന്ന് ബംഗളൂരുവിലേക്ക് കര്ണാടക ആര്.ടി.സി നോണ്സ്റ്റോപ് ബസ് സര്വീസുകള് നടത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. ഈ സര്വീസുകള് നിലവില് വന്നതോടെ മൈസൂര്-ബംഗളൂരു യാത്രക്ക് വേണ്ടിവരുന്ന സമയം മൂന്ന് മണിക്കൂറില് താഴെയാണ്. കാറില് എത്തുന്നതിനേക്കാള് വേഗത്തില് മൈസൂരില്നിന്ന് ബംഗളൂരുവിലേക്ക് നോണ്സ്റ്റോപ് ബസ് യാത്രക്കാര്ക്ക് എത്താനാകും. മൈസൂരിലും ബംഗളൂരുവിലും കെ.എസ്.ആര്.ടി.സി ഡിപ്പോയില്നിന്നുതന്നെ ടിക്കറ്റെടുത്താണ് യാത്രക്കാര് നോണ്സ്റ്റോപ് ബസുകളില് കയറുന്നത്. അതിനാല് കണ്ടക്ടറുടെ സേവനം ആവശ്യമില്ല. ഇതേ മാതൃകയില് സുല്ത്താന് ബത്തേരി, മാനന്തവാടി, കല്പറ്റ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്നിന്ന് നോണ്സ്റ്റോപ് സര്വീസ് വേണം എന്നാണ് ആവശ്യം.
വയനാട്ടില്നിന്നുള്ളവര് കോഴിക്കോട്ടത്തെി ട്രെയിന്യാത്രക്കായി രണ്ടും മൂന്നും മണിക്കൂര് മുമ്പെ യാത്ര ചെയ്യുകയാണിപ്പോള്. വൈകുന്നേരത്തെ ട്രെയിനില് യാത്രതിരിക്കേണ്ടവര്പോലും ബസ് യാത്രയിലെ ദുരിതവും തടസ്സങ്ങളും മുന്കൂട്ടിക്കണ്ട് മണിക്കൂറുകള്ക്ക് മുമ്പേ പുറപ്പെടുന്നു. ചികിത്സയടക്കം അത്യാവശ്യ കാര്യങ്ങള്ക്ക് കോഴിക്കോട്ട് എത്തേണ്ടവര്ക്കും നോണ്സ്റ്റോപ് സര്വീസുകള് ഉപകാരമാവും.
Non Stop SF will be a great idea… KKD vittal next stop only at KPA, then regular stoppings towards MDY/SBY…
few buses early in the morning from 4 am to 8 am, and few in the evening from 4pm till 8 pm is enough… at noon time there is not much of a rush in this route… the frequency should be atleast one bus every half hour…

This is a genuine requirement many people would be preferring. Recently a study came up with a report stating the number of people coming daily to Kalpetta are more than the population of Kalpetta Muncipality. I guess Kalpetta is the only district headquarters with very limited facility. This includes transportation. The station-master sitting in the municipal busstand is not even aware when the buses of Kalpetta garage reports for departure. We are expected to wait for the buses coming from other garages. It would be a miracle if someone boarding from Kalpetta gets seat to sit in those packed buses.
KSRTC should consider starting non-stop buses from Kalpetta to Kozhikode. All the towns in Wayanad is well connected to Kalpetta and people can travel to Kalpetta to board these non-stops.

It is true about the busstand at Kalpetta. The buses towards Bangalore, Mysore, Madikeri does not enter the busstand, instead stop at the roadside. It is sad to see people running behind the bus with luggages and children to board it. Pathetic to see no proper place to even stand on the roadside for people to wait for the buses. It is more difficult at night where it is very difficult to stand on the roadside in the cold and mist.
Authorities should seriously think of constructing a KSRTC busstand at Kalpetta.

Yes, Wayanad-KKD NON STOP/VERY LIMIED STOP servcies are required. Currently running TTs are now much more stops. For an For SBY/MDY-KKD buses, it must have fare stages only at Thamarassery and KKD. But can give req stops at Koduvalli Kunnamangala and CIVIL/MEDI. College.
Also, provide the conductor more rights not to allow short distant passengers from KKD. Now, ppl get into a Wayanad TT, and take tickets upto Moozhikal, Karanthur, KMGM etc. This must be avoided.
