I say our Express buses are better than the buses of the other 3 SRTCs in outlook and seating, especially the 2×2 reclining seater buses are best to travel. Karnataka’s new type Express buses are also better but in my view, the seats are arranged in congestion. TN has ill maintenance.

Above fig. of TN exp is very old.. The new TN exp ( BS 3) are good in design, quality of body and colour…
KL exp has a bad look but new Tn exp is simple and soft..

I think our exp give more comfort than other buses.. (i dn’t knw abut MSRTC KaSRTC)..

        KSRTC Karnataka Sarige = 3×2
KSRTC Rajahamsa CS = 2×2 pushback = KeSRTC Express it is lot better and built on 12M TATA chassis with Air suspension
MSRTC has Express in 2×2 and 3×2 and there are Asiad with 2×2 pushback
So comparing KeSRTC express with other state express is like comparing apples to oranges

Our express buses have very good leg space.. whereas TN express buses seating is very congested and we hav to cram our legs… as someone pointed out, express buses assume a different stature in all these states.. TN Express is eqvt to our FP/SF

Always KaSRTC….well maintained….KeSRTC need to come to Karnataka and see how TATA buses are running here better than AL…

I have travelled in all the buses. I like Kerala RTC bus. But Karnataka RTC employers are more comfortable. My preference is as follows:
First: Kerala RTC Second: Karnataka RTC Third: Tamil nadu RTC
    and Last Maharastra RTC.

From the buses itself we can understand the broad minds of Kerala and Karnata. Number only in english completely obeying RTO rules. The more you adjust and adapt, the better you will perform as mallus outside our state !

The comparison is unfair.Express or Karnataka Sarige in Ka SRTC is equivalent to our FP.

In fact Ka SRTC has no equivalent to our Express.
Semi deluxe is a comparable one but are few and better than our Express.

    • sbabu September 27, 2011 at 12:05 PM - Reply

KaSRTC has phased out semideluxe and now gradually introducing rajahamsa CS which is 12M TML bus with air-suspension and 51 pushback seats, they are already running on blr-chennai, mng-puttaparthi, blr-kundapura, mng -sangli routes

While considering the operation, employees, etc… KA SRTC is better…. But only in the case of speed, our RTC Is better….

NEW TN EXPRESS HAS A GOOD BODY ……BUT WHEN IT COMES TO SEATING…..KESRTC PROVIDES THE BETTER ONE………TN LACKS IN SEATING…………BUT..RECENTLY BYEPASS RIDERS WITH NEW SEATS HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED…..WHICH HAS INCREASED COMFORT..

KeSRTC buses (any class, express vs sarige OR delux vs rajahamsa) are the best in comfort, speed and timing, but for service, KaSRTC.

dear all, i have travelled in , delhi srtc, karnataka srtc, tamilnadu srtc, keral srtc, utarpradesh srtc, mahararashtra…. in these
i think the well maintained in karnataka and maharashtra… but talking about spaces especially leg spaces.. kerala goes ahead than others..even for standing people also ours is much better… but maintenance and drive quality need to cared to claim success… Ours 12m express buses , super fastm fp.. all are generous in space.. and speaking frankly its neat also… may be because of the cultural differences of the people who travel… this is my personal view, c

guys… got experience of traveling quite a lot in all the RTCs above except MH. Karnataka goes first regarding quality of buses in the higher end but fares are the highest. Express class I think goes to Kerala. All the 12M buses of Kerala are way ahead in ride quality. They have good space inside – I don’t feel crammed inside like in buses of karnataka and TN. The seating of Kerala expresses are better than Karnataka sarige. (I would put Rajahamsa CS into the Delux class of KeSRTC)

With performance and Quality of service – no match to Kerala. The buses are on time – does not lie idle at bus stops waiting for passengers to come at their own leisure – their buses start on time and reach on time, at times ahead of time if you consider some interstate services. . These two aspects, hats off to Kerala – I would say they are world class.

Fares ?? man!! I don’t know how TN buses manage to operate with such low fares. Karnataka kills with fares – you can drive in a car if you spend a little more than their fare to buy fuel for one of those new diesel cars. Salem-Bangalore cost me more in a KaSRTC express than all the fares of my journey all the way from Kerala to Salem added up. Kerala is quiet OK but not as cheap as TN.

karnataka bus is good,, none other than this, we r taking best public transport award every year by central govt,, yup speed is less because karnataka buses have speed govrnr they can’t reach above 65kmph for the sake of safety, eventhough they maintaind 80km speed in new BS||| engine buses as shown in above pic,, if thr is no speed limit no one can beat kartc buses,, seating is not bad, fare is high but quality also high.. and thr is no difference bw rural private buses and TN buses in shape,, in kerala bus speed is good bt not much better, maharastra is tat same old box type bus..

Among 4 our buses are super. Peru anwarthamakkunna perfomance. Both tata 12M and Leyland 12M buses are very good and powerpacked. They cruises upto 118 KMPH. SETC buses are vintage looking. Other 2 are luxorius but low speed. Our buses are much better. Nammuda vandikaluda paint must want to be changed into colourful. Like that of old superdeluxes. Vibrations also must be changed. Many of the express buses get only local tickets. That want to be changed. Someones may take it for below 15 kms. They also may be cleaned and washed in weekends. 2*2 seats are required.
