In yet another fatal accident, a 19-year-old college student was knocked down and crushed under the wheels of a speeding bus near Thazhaey Chovva railway gate in Kannur on Thursday morning.
The student, Athira, studying in SN College, was on her way to the college with her father on a bike, when the speeding bus knocked them from behind.
Athira fell and was run over by the bus, while her father was severely injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, 1000 students of the college who came to know about the accident, reached the spot and staged a sit-in protest creating a huge traffic block in the area.
