A.K. Saseendran of the NCP takes oath as Transport Minister. The decision was announced by NCP state chief Uzhavoor Vijayan at a press meet yesterday. AK Saseendran is an MLA from Elathur in Kozhikode.

Thomas Chandy MLA from Kuttanand too had staked claim for the ministerial post, but party national chief suggested the name of Saseendran. There were reports earlier that Saseendran and Thomas Chandy will share the post. However, Uzhavoor Vijayan said those reports were baseless. The green signal from party national chief led the delay in announcing the name of the minister.
