The city police on Saturday put sensitive areas of the city, including the Naval Base premises, under tight security after receiving a bomb threat call.

“A bomb threat was received at the KSRTC Ernakulam depot. Dog squads were deployed immediately and the area was checked. The threat was in the name of an outfit called the Base Movement,” said a senior police officer.
The quick response was following the recent incident in Malappuram Collectoratewhere a pressure cooker bomb went off.
“We informed the police soon after we received the call at the office of the district transport officer around 10am. A team of police officers arrived here but nothing was found,” said a KSRTC official.
