Nedumangad police on Saturday arrested a KSRTC empanelled conductor – in connection with a case of sexual assault on a minor girl.

KSRTC conductor Gireesh, 30, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in a KSRTC bus on August 18. There were very few passengers in the bus and the girl was seated alone on one of the rear seats. The complaint is that he grabbed the girl with a sexual intent. When she screamed, he jumped out of the bus and fled.

Police arrested him when he secretly returned to his house at Moozhi near Panavoor under Nedumangad station limits. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody. Gireesh is married and has a child.
