The Kerala State Road Transportation Corporation (KSRTC) has received a total budget allocation of Rs 40.61 crore. The biggest share – Rs 19.61 crore – was allocated for starting interstate services. The amount will be used for buying new energy-efficient single/multi-axle buses for interstate and intrastate services.

KSRTC will also introduce CNG buses in Kochi city on a pilot basis. An amount of Rs 11 crore will be used for computerisation of facilities. Depots and workshops will be modernised using Rs 9 crore. Also, Rs 1 crore will be used for training drivers and technical personnel.
