Road Transport Facilities From Pampa

Elaborate arrangements have been made by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) this year pilgrim season to ensure enough and effective sabarimala pilgrimage. A fully equipped bus station including garage facility has started functioning at Pampa round the clock. Buses will be operated from all important bus stations to Pampa and Erumeli.

In addition to Pamba Bus station, there is a temporary bus station at Nilackal. Chain services to Pampa from Nilackal are now operating. Mobile workshop facilities are arranged at Chalakkayam, Pampa, Nilackal, Plappally and Perunad.

Bus services from Chengannoor, Kottayam and Ernakulam railway stations have started to help pilgrimage to pamba.Advance seat reservation facility is also available including group reservation prior to 10 days. The KSRTC will provide bus to Pampa from any place within 10 kms from special service centre for a group of 40 pilgrims.

The timing of bus from KSRTC is not specifically scheduled since bus will always available as and when required. That is, one bus will always be there at the bus station and will starts the trip just after filling the seating capacity.

KSRTC Sevice From Bangalore To Pampa (Sabarimala)

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) doesn't started any service from Bangalore To Pampa till today. As there are so many pilgrims from Bangalore and other parts of Karnataka, KSRTC should take the initiative for starting a Pampa bus services.

Instead of finding a bus from Bangalore to pampa its better to catch some other buses to Kerala which are going very nearer to Pampa. That is Thiruvalla and Kottayam.

KSRTC is running two buses to Thiruvalla daily. That is

1) 17:30 KOTTARAKKARA (Super deluxe air bus) Via Palakkad, Thrissur, Kottayam
2) 16:15 THIRUVALLA (Super deluxe air bus) Via Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam

From Thiruvalla Bus Stand, you will get direct buses to Pampa which will take only 3 - 1/2 hours from there. Approximate Distance From Thiruvalla To Pampa is 100 Kms.

An other Option is to go to Kottayam, From Kottayam also you will get direct buses to Pampa frequently. which will take only 4 hours. Approximate Distance From Kottayam To Pampa is 130 Kms

KSRTC Special Services From Pampa

  • Kerala State Road Transport Corporation would soon start special bus service to Palani in Tamil Nadu from its seasonal depot at Pampa soon.
  • KSRTC Pampa Depot on Wednesday launched its Thenkasi inter-state service for the convenience of Tamil Nadu-bound pilgrims.
  • KSRTC has pressed into service maximum number of new buses for Sabarimala special service and comforts and convenience of the pilgrims on the long-distance route have also been taken care.
  • KSRTC has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth transport facility between Pampa and various places across the State during the ongoing pilgrim season.
In the long-route services, Chengannur Depot operated the highest number of 497. Kottayam Depot operated 254, Pathanamthitta 203, Thiruvananthapuram and Kottarakara 159 each and Ernakulam 144, he said.

KSRTC to run special services to Pampa

KSRTC will begin special services to Pampa from the Thiruvananthapuram Central depot from November 14.

For the convenince of devotees, they can book their seats from the depot in advance.

Services to Pampa will be available from the Ganapathy temple point on all days at 8 p.m.

KSRTC will run Super Express, Superfast and Fast Passenger buses towards Pampa. Bus service to Pampa will be arranged from anywhere within 10 km in the city if 40 pilgrims ask for it.






The Kollam depot of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation will operate sufficient number of services to Pampa from 9 p.m. on November 15. The services will be in place till the conclusion of the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrim season. Seats can been reserved ten days in advance. The fare to Pampa will be Rs.86 and an additional Rs.5 will charged for reservation.

KSRTC to operate services to Pampa

The KSRTC will operate services from all major bus stations to Pampa and Erumeli during the coming Mandala puja season at the Sabarimala temple.

CMD of the KSRTC T.P. Sen Kumar said that directives had been given to the bus stations to operate services to Pampa if there were a minimum of 45 passengers even during the initial days of the festival.

Chain services would be operated from Pampa-Triveni and Nilakkal. Bus services would be operated from Chengannur, Kottayam and Ernakulam railway stations for the benefit of the pilgrims.






Ten days’ advance reservation facility would be available at all the major bus stations for the journey.

Group reservation facility would also be available. The KSRTC would make arrangements to pick up pilgrims within 10 km of bus stations if 45 or more pilgrims made bulk booking. Only normal bus fare would be collected for the Sabarimala special services as was done during the previous year.

A bus station with garage facilities would function at Pampa during the festival season.

KSRTC launched a regular service to Pampa from Chengannur

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has launched a regular service to Pampa from its Chengannur depot .

Mr. P.C. Vishnunath, MLA, inaugurated the bus service by cracking a coconut in traditional style at a simple function held at the KSRTC depot premises.


The new bus service would be of great help to the Ayyappa devotees, especially during the monthly puja period.Southern Railways has already identified Chengnnur as a gateway to Sabarimala and KSRTC should extend more transport facility to Sabarimala pilgrims from Chengannur railway station.


The new bus service will start from Chengannur at 6 a.m. and reach Pampa by 9 a.m. via Pathanamthitta, Vadasserikkara and Nilackal. The return trip to Chengannur from Pampa will be at 10.30 a.m.

Timings From Pampa: 10.30 AM

Pilgrims can make advance reservations for this bus by making a telephone call to the depot.
