The K.S.R.T.C chain service from Mallappally is turning out to be a great success. The tiring bus ride in Kozhencherry-Mallappally-Kottayam route seems to be over by the flooded K.S.R.T.C buses in this route. Per day collection is being recorded over Rs.65000. Earlier the route was dominated by the private bus operators until the chain service of K.S.R.T.C buses got inaugurated on June 14, 2008 by Ex Transport Minister Sri. Mathew T Thomas.
Accidents are more frequent in this route among the private buses operating here, while in a hurry to catch more people than its ‘competitor’. This competition tightened after the introduction of K.S.R.T.C buses. Government should make every necessary steps to make sure that the life of common man is taken care of.
Unfortunately few incidents were reported where some K.S.R.T.C workers faced attacks while in operation. The complaint raised by the K.R.T.C workers is that these are planned by the private bus operators and police is not taking any actions against them.
Complaints are raising about private operators that, they are canvassing KSRTC Staff’s in this route for changing the bus timings and for not taking more passengers from bus stops. This issue should be taken by the corporation immediately. Indeed it was a great decision to start chain service in this mostly dominated private bus route. As a frequent commuter now i’m feeling so comfort and safety in the KSRTC buses. I hope KSRTC will increase their presence in this route by adding more number of services. KSRTC can offer better service to people by extending some the services to Pathanamthitta during mrning and evening hours.

Now most of the private buses running in this route take 5 minutes halt at both Mallappally and Karukachal. Also they are running very slowly to collect each and every passenger. If KSRTC can run in the minimum possible time without compromising on the travel comfort, it will be the clear winner in the long run. If the frequency can be reduced to 15 minutes, then I am sure people will wait for KSRTC buses only. Private buses will have to finally run with short distance travellers only

i know some PVT bus gundayisms in my area..KYLM-ADR-PTPM-PLR SH 5, bahranikkavu-charummod, KNPY-KTR,ADR-chavara, KYLM-MVKA-TVLA SH 6 and of course HPD_MVKA_PDM_PTA..kandille 2 out of 8 venads in this route….chillu udachu PVT kaar.. daily 2-3 PVT buses and tippers engilum police pidikkum ivide..PLS visit KYLM, MVKA, nooranad, kurathikad, vallikunnam police stations for evidence.u can see atleast 1 PVT bus in a day there.

Anto, dont turn out this blog to be a war zone. You maybe a KSRTC fan. Someone else maybe a private fan. Leave it all alone. We want smooth travel, isnt it? Why become so excited when someone speak things which u don't like.
And dont turn a blind eye to the attrocities KSRTC men do in nationalised routes like CTL-TPDY, TPTRA-MVPA and ALV-ANK. Ask people there whether they like KSRTC. We persons of computer age have blogs and forums to discuss. What do the poor people in those region have?
KSRTC want to compete with privates while they take least care of nationalised routes where they have monopoly. Why do they allot all Venads and Malabars only to routes where there are ample private buses. Why dont they allot some to the nationalised routes. Are the common men in the nationalised routes second class citizens? You experience KSRTC once in a month, in long routes. These poor people experience the cruelity everyday. Dont think everything about KSRTC is so rosy. Come with me to Aroor mukkam stop and I can show you. Old people showing hands, bus not stopping etc.
They maybe praying privates start in thier routes. Thats the true KSRTC. Tell the MD about this. How painful it is.
Otherwise they should remove nationalisation from all routes. let there be healthy competition between KSRTC and Privates.

After few years private buses will be vanished from the state, else the number of buses will decrese. This will happen only if ksrtc is running buses in that route.

introducing chain services has been a hit in all the places. it is definitely a gud option and it is way far better than the ruthless , harsh and arrogant private buses that operate in various parts of the state. one should see the way these private players operate especially in the interior routes wer they hav a monopoly. and wat Sujith has reported is done with a gud intention.
if ksrtc would have paid every tom dick n harry for eliminating private players and getting publicity through a blog then it would have got the monopoly in the entire state and would have been running in 100% profit by now..article 19(1) of constitution has guaranteed the right of freedom of speech and expression if it is done for the right intention…pls people it is a medium for a healthy discussion and lets all do it..

First of all, I am not a fan of either KSRTC or Private bus. I travel in both private and KSRTC buses. Sometimes, when I travel in Kochi city I feel KSRTC should come there because travelling in some Private buses are hectic, they don’t even care that there are people in the bus. But sometimes I hate KSRTC. As someone mentioned here, in the nationalized route, they do not operate properly. I have mentioned in my last article about Time management. KSRTC does not have that.
And KSRTC cannot take the entire public transport system of Kerala if their attitude is same as of now. There should be some changes. And private buses will operate here, other wise what will happen to this industry? And I believe KSRTC also need Private operators for some other reasons. Everybody knows it…
Yes, KSRTC is a public transport system where government has control, so it supposed to be saved, that’s why people raise voice. And this forum should not be a place for tug of war between KSRTC and Private Fans. We should think how we could improve services. It should be both KSRTC and Private

This post is leading to a tug of war. In one way PRIVATE buses were the saviors of the common man when KSRTC did not have buses to operate between various towns. Then the number of private buses increased and the competition started between different operators.
If this unfriendly 'competition' was not there, you know definitely people would start loving to travel in private buses. But, now private buses have landed themselves into a bad name.
KSRTC buses would not have competition between themselves. They are Govt employees too, we all know how Govt. employees are right? Take the case of Air India. The employees of Air India have realized that if they are friendly they can get more passengers. Give some time to the KSRTC employees, I can guarantee that they would also be friendly and this Govt corporation's losses would come down.
I myself being in a city of Kochi have experienced the rashness and unfriendly attitude of various bus operators. Plus, will the private buses run when we have 'n' number of harthals or strikes in Kerala??

Its a good move by KSRTC to start new services on Private dominated routes. The only thing that irkes me now is that all the new buses are now Venad and Malabar. A lot of the RR Series SFast and LsFp's are nearing replacement.
The new buses should be rolled out on a propotional basis.

CORPORATION HAS TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTIONS ON THOSE DRIVERS AND CONDUCTORS WHO ARE DOING THIS. THERE SHOULD BE A POINT WITH THE HELP OF RTO TO RECORD THE PRIVATE BUS OPERATORS TO PUNCH THE TIMINGS.TRAFFICE POLICE HAS TO TAKE ACTION ON THOSE BUSES WHO ARE RUNNING IN OVERSPEED.
